SP continues to apply the 3rd dose of Virus in Friday

The city of Paulo continues to apply the third dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 in adults this Friday (26). To receive the booster, the citizen must have completed the vaccination schedule (with the second dose or single dose) for at least five months.

All people who have taken the second dose of the immunizing agents CoronaVac, AstraZeneca and Pfizer until June 25 are eligible for the booster. The group will receive the third dose, preferably, with the Pfizer vaccine.

Previously, the groups eligible to receive the additional dose were only the elderly over 60 years, health professionals, civil servants and education. The anticipation of the third dose for the public over 18 years old began last Thursday (18) in the state of São Paulo.

With the change, another change came into effect: the reduction of the interval between doses, from six to five months, which follows guidance from the Ministry of Health on the extension of vaccination across the country.

Since this Thursday (25) some health professionals will be going to schools in municipal and state networks to apply the immunizing agent and expand vaccination coverage in adolescents. The action will be carried out twice a week and the student must have an authorization signed by the person responsible to receive the vaccine.

The first, second and additional dose are offered from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at mega-stations, drive-thrus and partner pharmacies and from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm at UBSs (Basic Health Units) and AMAs/Integrated UBSs.

The De Olho na Fila website helps to avoid crowding by showing the movement of people in the units. The tool also informs which vaccines are available for the application of the second dose.

In addition, the capital of São Paulo continues with the immunization of the first and second doses for those over 18 years old and adolescents from 12 to 17 years old, as well as providing a booster dose for the elderly over 60 years old and groups of workers such as the health, education and civil servants working in the GCM (Municipal Civil Guard), burials and inspectors from sub-prefectures.
